The Dubai Waterfront (now known as Waterfront) was expected to become the largest waterfront and largest man-made development in the world. The project is a conglomeration of canals and artificial archipelago; it would occupy the last remaining Persian Gulf coastline of Dubai, the most populous emirate of the United Arab Emirates. It was planned to consist of a series of zones with mixed use including commercial, residential, resort, and amenity areas. The vision of the project is “to create a world-class destination for residents, visitors and businesses in the world’s fastest growing city”.

The gateway to Waterfront, an entirely new district in Dubai, Badrah aims to meet every need of the modern family and offer affordable housing options. Badrah will contain four distinct areas, offering a mixture of residences, offices, educational and civic amenities, as well as retail and leisure elements, interspersed with large, open, green spaces. The architecture of the 45,000 homes blends modern modular forms with traditional Arabic design and the overall development has been carefully designed to enhance the overall community feel of the development.

Badrah Phase 1 was delivered in 2014. It contains 8 low-rise apartment buildings and about 456 apartments and 144 two and three bedroom townhouses. The other phases were suspended.
