Programme Management

Planning without action is futile, action without planning is fatal.

Program Management has oversight of the purpose to sustain the status of the project in a certain time-schedule, within the allocated budget and as the Scope of the project indicates by optimizing dedicated resources, and to support project-level activity to ensure the program goals are met by providing a decision-making capacity that cannot be achieved at project level or by providing the project manager with a program perspective when required, or as a sounding board for ideas and approaches to solving project issues that have program impacts. It also emphasizes the coordinating and prioritizing of resources across projects, managing links between the projects and the overall costs and risks of the program.

Change Management, is also part of Program Management, refers to any approach to transitioning individuals, teams, and organizations using methods intended to re-direct the use of resources, business process, budget allocations, or other modes of operation that significantly reshape a project or development. It focuses on how people and teams are affected by a change, and in a project management context, may refer to the change control process (CCP) wherein changes to the scope of a project are formally introduced and approved.
